We are currently looking for a Sales Executive/Assistant Sales Director for a busy Modern/Contemporary Gallery in London.
The gallery specialises in post-war and contemporary art and is guided by a strong focus on rediscovering the work of important yet under-recognised artists through presentations at its central London gallery space, a series of online exhibitions and participation in art fairs around the world (when they happen!).
Role responsibilities:
Sales strategy
Assist with the growth of a leading and progressive commercial art gallery based in Mayfair
Drive primary and secondary sales from lead generation to close, meeting an annual sales target
Manage the gallery’s sales pipeline and utilise its CRM system to maximise sales
Issue individual and bulk sales offers to existing and new clients
Implement sales strategies for existing clients and develop strategies to attract new clients
Place key artworks in prominent museums and private collections
Nurture online sales growth through the gallery’s presence on online platforms (e.g., Artsy and Artnet) and online exhibitions
Assist with invoicing and the post-sales process (not a primary role)

Oversee research and development with sales director and marketing consultant
Update contact information on the database (not a primary role)

Management of gallery assistants to help with responsibilities pertaining to sales
Attendance at gallery meetings as a senior member of the team
Undertake other duties as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the gallery

Required experience:
Passion and drive to sell art and grow artists’ markets
Proven network of collectors, both London-based and international, as well as relationships with key institutions
Proven track record of sales and strategic placement
Comprehensive knowledge of primary and secondary sales
Familiarity with ArtLogic (or similar database, preferred but not essential)
Looking for someone who has adapted to the ‘new normal’ who is a self-starter and comes with lots of ideas
Passion and drive to sell art and grow artists’ markets
