About:
Our client is an Art Agency specialised in cultural strategy and art consultancy and works between Japan and France with blue chip collectors and institutions. They are looking for an experienced Sales Associate to join their team. The candidate will work remotely and focus on sales of primary and secondary market works. They will need strong sales experience, be able to grow the database and will be involved in blue chip deals as well as smaller transactions.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Implement sales strategies for existing clients and develop strategies to attract new clients
  • Place works by the agency’s artists in well-established and international private and institutional collections
  • Work with the agency’s partners to create and execute on effective long and short-term commercial strategies in-line with the commercial goals of the agency
  • Propose entire sales cycles and other tools from lead to engagement to closing.
  • Represent the agency in international art fairs and events when required
  • Research artworks, provenance, exhibition history, etc. and write essays to support sales.
  • Track client interests, actively communicate with prospects and clients, draft offers, and issue invoices

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Passion and drive to sell art and grow artists’ markets
  • Proven network of high and ultra-high net-worth international collectors
  • 2+ years of sales experience in the contemporary art market and experience with both Primary and Secondary Market
  • A self-starter who is confident in seeking and closing deals proactively
  • Proven track record of bringing in EUR 2-4MM+ in sales per annum
  • Excellent communications, networking and social skills. Polished writing skills
  • Excellent diplomatic skills, able to handle anything with discretion
  • Proactive in seeking solutions to contribute to other areas of the agency ecosystem
  • Fine arts academic background is a plus
  • Speaking and/or understanding Japanese/French is a plus

This is a freelance role, 3 days a week (or the equivalent in hours each week) with the possibility of becoming Full Time. Candidate will work remotely and should be based in Europe, US or Asia.

Take home: 1,200 EUR pm plus generous commission
