We are on the hunt for an Artist Agent to work Part Time with a Contemporary Artist based in London.

About:
Our client is a Contemporary Artist ready to take the next step in his career and aiming to position himself more firmly in the art market. He is looking for an Agent with the right network that will work closely with him to expand his sales capacity and increase his collector base. The Artist focuses on figurative political art, has received great press reviews and has just completed his largest project to date. He has a studio in London and one in France.
Job specification:
  • Business development and sales
  • Marketing and strategy
  • Person will develop ideas on their own and market and position work
  • Planning and organizing events and studio visits with patrons
  • Liaise and follow up with clients, curators and institutions
  • Set up artist profile on online sales platforms and manage online sales
  • Assist in management of operations, liaising with shipping companies
Person specifications:
  • Established network of collectors and institutions in particular with ties to US and Europe (UK and Germany ideal) and able to forge industry connections
  • Pragmatic and proactive. Self-driven and motivated; able to work independently
  • Proven history of promoting artworks and closing sales.
  • Experienced in strategically building artist profiles
  • An understanding of contemporary art
  • Experience in coordinating exhibitions.
  • Skilled at using different sales channels.
Candidate can be based in US (East Coast) or Europe or the UK – will work remotely and physically meet when needed
Salary: DOE £40-50k pa (pro rata) + commission
Role will start with 2.5 days a week (flexible hours) with possibility of growth and potential to be Full Time as things progress.
This is a long term, permanent position to start ASAP.
