The company specialises in exceptional jewels; its legacy provides the backdrop for a line of contemporary jewel creations.

Fusing traditional Indian art inspiration and cutting-edge design aesthetic, the JDC will work under direction of the Lead Designer to create jewellery designs, assist in the production of unique jewellery pieces and the marketing activities.

The JDC will present initial designs in regular updates based on briefings of the weekly design meetings. 

Responsibilities (Job duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to): 

 

Jewellery Design: 

  • Contribute to all aspects of jewellery design and participate in the organic evolution of the Lead Designer designs and production.
  • Work collaboratively and liaise with other designers and suppliers such as gemstone and shipment companies, as well as researchers, marketing and PR consultants.

 

Duties and day to day activities:    

  • Develop, explore and interpret high and fine jewellery designs based on Lead Designer’s design vision: from initial sketch and pencil drawings to technical and computer designs for manufacturing and painted gouaches for presentation, assist with CAD designer/s.
  • Compile and regularly update database of designs and gemstones.
  • At times, extend and update existing jewellery lines.
  • Respect deadlines and budgets.
  • Assist jewellery presentations for bespoke commissions.
  • Communicate with international suppliers and logistics companies, log progress updates and shipments when required.

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Create jewellery designs, paint ups
  • Compile client presentations
  • Use communication skills to support PR activities
  • Assist with developing marketing materials (invitations and general presentation set ups, along with general office assistance)
  • Travel to workshops, and occasionally accompany the Lead Designer to jewellery and stone fairs and client meetings

Marketing tasks: 

The marketing aim is to build recognition for the brand and to increase the PR outreach that leads to sales. In doing so, build aspiration and credibility for the brand and underline the company’s heritage reputation, design credibility and artistic creativity whilst emphasising the unique collection positioning. 

  • Contribute ideas for news stories around the collections.
  • Assist in composing invitations and press releases
  • Packaging and display material sourcing 
  • Assist in organising collection previews and putting together print materials for marketing purposes including invitations, brochures, art books, video and film material
  • Assist in preparations for participating at international art and jewellery presentation and exhibitions
  • Set up and participate in client presentations when required
  • Prepare meetings with PR and media
  • Assist in photography sessions

 

General office tasks:

  • Keep record of designs in progress
  • Organise design filing system 
  • Capture stone and content data of jewels in progress for marketing and sales purposes
  • Assist with deliveries and telephone
  • Assist during client presentations

 

Schedule: Full-time

Salary: £45k-55k
