Scope and Purpose
As the Head of Human Resources (HR), you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the HR function within the organisation. You will develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business objectives and contribute to a positive and productive work environment. The Head of HR plays a critical role in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, whilst ensuring compliance with labour laws and promoting employee engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programmes that support the goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR initiatives with business strategies and drive organisational effectiveness.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of HR trends, best practices, and legal requirements to ensure HR programmes remain competitive and compliant.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee the full cycle of talent acquisition, including workforce planning, recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Develop effective strategies for sourcing, attracting, and selecting high-quality candidates.
- Implement performance management systems to support talent development and succession planning.
Employee Relations:
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication, conflict resolution, and fair treatment.
- Handle complex employee relations matters, such as disciplinary actions, grievances, and investigations.
- Stay current on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Develop and administer compensation and benefits programmes that attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee the evaluation, benchmarking, and adjustment of compensation structures to remain competitive in the market.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding employee compensation and benefits.
Learning and Development:
- Develop and implement learning and development initiatives that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance.
- Identify training needs and coordinate the design and delivery of training programmes.
- Support career development opportunities and provide guidance to employees on professional growth.
HR Operations:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including employee data management, payroll information, and HR information system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, reports, and metrics.
- Continuously assess and improve HR processes and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Employee Engagement and Culture:
- Promote a positive organisational culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being.
- Lead employee recognition and reward programmes to motivate and retain top performers.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience as an HR leader, preferably in a similar senior-level role within the art world.
- A higher national diploma or a bachelor’s degree in human resources or business Management.
- CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in HR Management
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in HR information systems and other HR-related software.
As the Head of HR, you will be instrumental in shaping the organisation’s culture, supporting its growth, and creating a positive and productive work environment for employees. Your strategic vision, leadership abilities, and HR expertise will contribute to the success of the organisation as a whole.
Conditions of Work
- Permanent contract.
- Full Time (42,5 hours per week, including a paid hour for lunch)
- Probation period: 3 months.
- Notice period: 3 months
- Hybrid/Flexible working
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays.
- You will be eligible to participate in the business’s pension scheme.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Salary: £50k – £60k DOE
