Our client is a Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery in Mayfair. They are looking for a creative, confident Digital Marketing & Communications Manager to expand the gallery’s audience across digital channels and implement press campaigns for its exhibition programme.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute creative ideas to broaden and expand the gallery audience with innovative and integrated digital marketing campaigns across its digital channels (incl but not limited to gallery website, viewing rooms microsite, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Develop and implement Rich Media Content strategy, from commission to distribution
  • E-mailer campaigns: plan, manage and implement e-marketing campaigns using Mailchimp
  • Produce ad hoc marketing materials in-house using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Update gallery website with the gallery programme – main contact for ArtLogic
  • Design and build Online Viewing Rooms using ArtLogic and InDesign
  • Search Engine Optimisation monitoring
  • Devise creative strategies to grow and diversify the gallery’s social following
  • Write copy and manage distribution of all content on socials
  • Reactively share editorial coverage on socials
  • Send quarterly report to the team on analytics and growth
  • Implement press campaigns for exhibition programme and selected fairs
  • Set up one-on-one briefings and proactively pitch media about the gallery programme and external projects, securing coverage
  • Write, copyedit and proof texts such as press releases to support press campaigns
  • Format press releases and gallery documents using InDesign
  • Select and prepare press images, captions, and information
  • Oversee logistics for press interviews, journalist visits, photographers, and film crews
  • Respond to incoming enquiries from press
  • Build the gallery’s press network and database
  • Monitor press coverage and request corrections where appropriate
  • Scan and file press archive
  • Circulate recent press to staff Creative event production: contribute creative ideas for events to broaden the gallery’s audience such as education programme and client events
  • Manage gallery events within the team on the ground – Support from Gallery Assistant

Candidate Specifications

  • Creative, flexible and innovative approach to working, bringing new ideas to the table
  • Ambitious for the gallery, with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong visual sense
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in arts or humanities subject (BA required)
  • Demonstrated PR network
  • Experience leading communications and marketing campaigns
  • Excellent communications skills, as well as analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong language skills. Fluent in English, further languages desired but not essential
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Demonstrated skill writing about art and exhibitions

Desirable but not Essential

  • Experience with ArtLogic CMS
  • Good working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop
