Our client is an established Gallery with a focus on highlighting international multidisciplinary artists, alongside a host of dynamic events, programmes and gallery shows. They are seeking to find an experienced Artist Liaison for a 12-month maternity cover contract, with strong potential for the role to evolve into a permanent contract after the 12-month period. The ideal candidate should have impeccable writing skills and have at least 3 years in an equivalent role. You will manage the gallery’s represented artists enabling the fulfilment of the gallery and artist’s objectives, whilst being responsible for all the gallery’s written content. Facilitating artists’
career progression and achievement of institutional and sales targets.
Roles and responsibilities:
Artist management
• Day-to-day point of contact for selected gallery artists and studios
• Responsible for creation/implementation of artist strategies in tandem with gallery directors
• Generation and cultivation of institutional opportunities for gallery artists
• Management of selected artists’ financials
• Administrational and creative support for studios for gallery and institutional projects
Written content
• Responsible for all written communications including press releases, email announcements, work captions, fair applications, social media content, fair information sheets, portfolios
Programme development
• Researching/studio visits with artists potentially relevant to gallery programme
• Assisting with development of expansive thematic group exhibitions
• Assisting with development of online programme
Key Performance Indicators
• Successful implementation of artist strategies via fulfilment of institutional and sales targets
• All written content prepared in timely manner and an appropriate form consistent with the gallery’s criteria
• Retention and development of artist roster
• Enhancement of gallery’s exhibition, events and online programme
• Consistent availability of inventory from gallery artists
• Freeing up of directors’ time to focus on key objectives
Skills/Experience
• At least three years prior experience in a comparable role
• Excellent writing ability
