Our client is a busy London Gallery and Dealership with a global client base. Their international network allows them to execute collection strategies and build world-class collections on behalf of both individuals and institutions. They also work directly with some of the world’s leading artists for commissions and more.They are seeking a full-time Registrar to work remotely (contracted) from New York or Los Angeles in conjunction with the current UK-based Director of Logistics to support the workload of an expanding company. The ideal candidate will be a positive, driven, clear communicator who is quick to find solutions to any problem.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Co-ordination of overseas and domestic logistics in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner
- Liaise closely with the directors, clients, and external contractors to deliver a professional and efficient service to clients
- Maintenance and accurate execution of all elements of registration, post-sale care, storage, and records
- Work closely with the Director of Logistics to develop strategies and procedures to further professionalise the company’s logistics and post-sale procedures
- Identify when export and import licences are necessary and manage the applications in a timely manner.
- Resolve and manage any restoration and repair issues that may occur, either internally or through external contractors
- Complete general departmental administration and registrar project work
- Monitor incoming purchase invoices and current cash flow
- Manage the insurance policy and identify large value consignments which require endorsements; liaise with insurer to acquire additional necessary cover as needed
- Liaise with the Managing Director and Accounts team to make payments to contractors
- Oversee and maintain organized office and virtual filing systems
- Oversee and manage stock control and artwork storage
- Travel as necessary within the USA
- Manage multiple time zones
- Own projects and post-sale quality control
Skills & Experience Required
- At least 7 years’ experience in fine art logistics – a combination of fine art shipping company and/or auction house and gallery/dealership or museum experience preferred
- Excellent knowledge of all import and export formalities both in the UK and USA, including Fish and Wildlife/CITES, export permits and import tax rates
- Proven working familiarity with high value artworks (both paintings and sculptures over $2m) and with UHNW clientele
- Experience with condition checking, packing artworks, framing and restoration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of risk and insurance processes
- Existing relationships with fine art shipping companies
- Experience coordinating fine art transits, packing, and logistics
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and with a clear result in mind
- Strong IT skills
- Numerical literacy, excellent spelling and grammar
