Our client is an exciting and innovative Contemporary Gallery based in the heart of Knightsbridge. We are looking for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join the gallery.  The role is a fast-paced, dynamic, multifaceted Sales role. The preferred candidate must have previous sales and gallery experience and be used to interacting with clients of all levels, prospects and nurturing proactive lead generation.

This is a start-up new business and evolving brand, but still very much within its infancy. The gallery, however, operates within the confines of a larger organisation and needs to respect and adhere to the wider business too, under US ownership. The candidate must have a sleeves-rolled up approach, with a proactive, entrepreneurial nature and be used to juggling various aspects, whilst being a good team player within a small team.

Responsibilities:

  • Key focused Salesperson with the team – manage and nurture the sales pipelineaiding client acquisition and retention
  • Responsible for sales revenue into the business, aiming to always exceed monthlytargets
  • Focus on selling primary works, as well as secondary
  • Sourcing blue-chip/secondary works for the gallery through own connections andcontacts
  • Proactive lead generation – identifying prospective clients through networking, salestools, marcoms, events, managing incoming leads, etc
  • Bring in own client contact book to the role (collectors) and pitch works accordingly to close sales
  • Developing innovative sales strategies to achieve targets
  • Be adaptable and flexible working in a start-up environment with a programme still being built-out
  • Preparing and delivering sales presentations and updates to wider team monthly
  • Managing and install a slick professional Client Sales Journey from initial interaction/enquiry, through to final delivery (client invoicing, payment, sales reporting to MD, briefing Logistics Manager effectively regarding shipment of works, storage, install etc)
  • Ensure smooth running of the gallery from a Sales perspective – QR codes for all exhibited works, team trainings for each rehang, working with Logistics Manager for general inventory of works etc.
  • Be the key point person in the Gallery for the public open days and close sales towalk-in clients
  • Showcase specialist art knowledge across artists and wider industry and investment trends (to clients and internal team) with specific focus on all exhibitions, represented artists – emerging and high profile
  • Involved in building artist roster and exhibition programme
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, market trends, professional publications, to constantly expand industry knowledge, sharing with the wider team
  • Efficient with general administration and operations, budgeting, finance and accounts

Position: Full-time permanent

Location: Knightsbridge

Working week: Tuesday – Saturday.

Office-based Tues-Thurs, gallery-based Fri-Sat

Salary: Base £35,000 per annum. Commission up to 10% of net profit (post costs)
