Our client, an internationally renowned gallery specialising in 20th century and contemporary art with spaces in New York and London, is seeking to find an experienced Gallery Manager/Director to join their gallery in New York.
About the role:
You will be the sole person in the gallery with the addition of members of the London team and interns during exhibitions and shows. You will also work closely with the team in London with weekly team calls. This role is not sales focused but you will manage everything from exhibitions, research, shipping, artist and client liaison to overseeing the day to day of the gallery and the team. This is an ideal role for somebody who enjoys being involved in all aspects of gallery management and likes to get stuck in.
About you:
The gallery is seeking someone to be the face of the gallery, who has a minimum of 3-5 years of experience and comes from an established gallery/auction house background with the ability to step into the role with confidence and be flexible to the needs of the gallery. Ideally you will have an established network and know the major players within the art world.
