We are looking for an Editions Manager to work with a renowned Artist Studio in London.

Person specification:
Candidate will need to be
– Educated to degree level
– Confident and a good networker
– A skilled communicator both in person and in writing
– Have excellent attention to detail
– Have an opinion; be assertive (but respectful) with the artist
– Enjoy and be able to work in a team but equally often manage sales efficiently and promptly alone

Preferred experience:
– Artwork sales (strong e-commerce a bonus)
– Client facing role – should have professional manner and excellent level of customer service
– Has worked with prints / editions
– Has dealt with high net worth and/or high profile individuals
– Familiarity with tax jurisdictions, VAT zones, import duties etc

Tasks include:
– Responsible for sales of prints, editions and unique works on paper
– Fulfilling trade orders, maintaining existing relationships and working on building new trade outlets
– Sales through email correspondence, over the phone and in person at art fairs or special events
– Issuing invoices
– Contacts management
– Submitting change of ownership information and overseeing authentication measures
– Overseeing the packing and dispatch of sold works

Production Management / Creative Assistant:
– Oversee and assist the artist in the whole creative process of fabricating the work and taking it to market
– Soundboard ideas and suggest production methods
– Brief fabricators and printmakers, liaise between them and the artist during the production process
– Responsible for quality and condition checking
– Responsible for keeping the project on budget
– Oversee the signing, editioning and authentication tagging of the work
– Inputting artwork information on database
– Ensuring production invoices are raised on database so an accurate financial breakdown is accessible

Website and Mailing List:
– Running a successful e-commerce business
– Responsible for overseeing and updating the website
– Adding new items and writing product descriptions
– Online stock management
– Fulfillment of orders placed online
– Management of editions etc MailChimp including lists, design and sending out shop mailer.

Packing and Logistics:
– Specialist handling and packing of fine art prints and 3D works
– Liaising with logistics and courier companies on shipping quotes, following through to overseeing process until delivery
– Booking of courier services including filling in appropriate shipping paperwork and customs declaration forms

– Responsible for suitable, archival storage of prints, editions and works on paper
– Ensuring that stock on the database is accurate in terms of sales status, condition, stock numbers and location
– Maintaining balanced stock levels to efficiently run retail business
– Ensure there are suitable packing materials available
– Delegating work to studio assistants
– Answering the phone and dealing with demands in the most appropriate manner
– Ad-hoc requests from the artist and/or director as required
– Assisting with charity donations
– Reporting on auction activity

Art Fair Responsibilities:
– Drawing up art fair proposal and submitting application
– Budget proposal and follow through
– Artwork selection and liaising with additional artists (if applicable)
– Booth layout and design
– Overseeing logistics to and from the fair, (for all artists)
– Installation and curation of the booth
– Oversee sales at the fair including processing of invoices and follow up

Salary: up to £45K pa
Start date: ASAP
