Our client is a leading international corporate law firm based in London with additional offices in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. They are seeking a consultant or part-time Art Collection Coordinator to manage all aspects of the day-to-day running of the firm’s art collection (500+ works), both in London and their international offices. The role includes room for project-based work such as temporary exhibitions and collaborations with arts institutions and the local community. There is also the opportunity to host events such as tours of the art collection and artist talks.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Updating and maintaining catalogue details of the collection on ArtLogic (including a project to digitise any existing paper-based invoices and records)
  • Assisting with the logistic and administrative aspects of acquisitions
  • Managing logistics such as insurance, storage, shipping, and installation
  • Arranging for framing and conservation of works
  • Obtaining up-to-date valuation of works in the collection
  • Assisting with the establishment of a website for the collection
  • Securing copyright permissions to use images of the works in the collection
  • Assisting with the curating of the collection across the firm’s offices
  • Tracking the annual budget


Scope for further tasks includes:

  • Organising events (tours of the art collection for clients and staff, talks with artists)
  • Organising temporary exhibitions
  • Arranging for loans of works to third parties
  • Project managing collaborations with arts institutions or with the local community
  • Potential travel


Skills & Experience Required

  • Excellent academics
  • Able to develop professional relationships and build business through diverse networks
  • Available to work on a consultant-basis for two to three days per week
  • Must be available to work onsite as and when the work requires
  • Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required
  • Independent and self-motivated


Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Arts degree
  • Experience as a Registrar or similar, or other administrative art role
  • Good knowledge of art and the art market


Location: London, flexible work from home or office.

Initially a 1 year contract with potential to be extended. Maximum 3 days per week.
Salary: up to £200/day
